John has an extensive background in technical and academic research, and has experience in using various tools to model, simplify, and understand complex data. John has communicated unique insights to a wide range of audiences, and his award-winning research has been recognised globally.

This includes winning an industry medal for showing how computational modelling can be used to explain real-life complexities, and receiving over 1000 citations by others in leading research journals.

In previous roles at University of Nottingham, John has led and delivered major research projects, developed cutting-edge technology, and worked collaboratively with multiple institutions and commercial partners.
